MINNEAPOLIS, 10 Sept. 2010. Omnetics Connector Corp. in Minneapolis is introducing the Omnetics Micro-D connectors for critical, high reliability aerospace, military, medical, optics, guidance systems, space and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications. The compact, rugged Omnetics Micro-D connectors are available from 9 to 51 contacts with termination types ranging from wire- to-wire, surface mount, solder cup, and thru-hole.

These connectors are built to shock and vibration requirements of MIL-DTL-83513, and incorporate a one-piece flex pin design for shock and vibration resistance. The old-plated flex pin is for more than 2,000 mating cycles.

"Our Micro-D's are compatible with industry standard interfaces and military standards," says Omnetics Project Engineer Nick Sanders. "We have designed them with fewer components to yield a more streamline and higher quality product."

These thru-hole connectors come in straight and right-angle versions and can be built with several hardware styles or customized for user specified mounting conditions. For more information contact Omnetics online at www.omnetics.com.
