HOUSTON, Texas, 27 Oct. 2010. SatMAX Corp., a global provider of wireless, non-line-of-sight satellite communications (SATCOM) products and services, has delivered a SatMAX satellite communications repeater system for installation at a major defense-related manufacturing facility (the identity of which must remain confidential).
The SatMAX repeaters are employed to transfer data and test aircraft avionics. The SatMAX repeater will enable aircraft assembly and maintenance engineers to avoid expense and time involved with moving aircraft to establish a line-of-sight with satellites in order to test satellite-based aircraft avionics systems.

Wireless satellite communications require a direct line of sight to the sky to create a link between the satellite communications device and the orbiting satellite. This communication link is interrupted if the device is located indoors or is located in some other non-line-of-sight environment.

SatMAX repeater technology enables satellite communications, such as wireless voice and data transmissions from virtually any non-line-of-sight location.
