Navy aircraft weapons designers order $10 million worth of software development tools from The MathWorks

CHINA LAKE NAVAL AIR WEAPONS STATION, Calif., 17 Dec. 2010. U.S. Navy aircraft weapons experts are looking to software design and development tools specialist The MathWorks Inc. in Natick, Mass., to provide technical computing and model-based design for use by government engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and researchers under terms of a $10 million contract awarded Wednesday.

U.S. Navy aircraft weapons experts are looking to software design and development tools specialist The MathWorks Inc. in Natick, Mass., to provide technical computing and model-based design for use by government engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and researchers under terms of a $10 million contract awarded Wednesday.

The MathWorks will provide software products, including MatLab, Simulink, toolboxes, maintenance, training, and consultation. The company will do the work in Natick, Mass., and should be finished by December 2015. Awarding the contract are officials of the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD at China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station, Calif.

The MathWorks designs mathematical computing software for engineers and scientists. The NAWCWD, part of Naval Air Systems Command, develops advanced weapons for Navy aircraft.
