  • December 10, 2011 -- Lockheed Martin submarine combat system completes testing in Brazillian Navy Sea Trials
    RIO DE JANEIRO, Dec. 10, 2011. The Brazilian Navy recently tested an integrated combat system provided by Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] on the SS Tapajo, a U209 (Tupi)-class submarine. The exercise marks Brazil’s first use of the combat system and demonstrates its compatibility with international allied navies. 
  • December 7, 2011 -- Northrop Grumman LITENING Advanced Targeting System awarded four-year, $8 million support contract extension by Royal Australian Air Force
    ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., Dec. 7, 2011. Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has been awarded a four-year extension by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) to the existing support contract for the LITENING AT system, used as the RAAF's Target Designation System for F/A-18 Hornet aircraft (HTDS).
  • December 7, 2011 -- VSD wins $6.8 million contract to refurbish, install, test Iraqi navy training systems
    VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., 7 Dec. 2011. VSD LLC won a sole source contract from Naval Air Warfare Center, Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) in Orlando, Fla., to refurbish, deliver, install, test, and providing training and contractor support for the Iraqi navy 35-meter patrol boat and 60-meter offshore support vessel training systems in Umm Qasr, Iraq. The contract also calls for one year of logistical support for Iraqi engineering students in Morgan City and Houma, La., while the boats are being built.
  • December 6, 2011 -- Lockheed Martin's JAGM cooling system finishes testing
    ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 6, 2011. Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] and industry partner Marotta Controls, Inc., recently completed testing of the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) launcher pneumatic cooling system (PCS).The PCS, a miniature compressor and air filtration system, cools JAGM’s imaging infrared (I2R) sensor, enabling the aircrew to passively acquire and track targets at safe standoff range while the missile is still on the launcher, allowing it to confirm target acquisition.
