  • October 27, 2011 -- Radiation-hardened A/D converters for military and space applications introduced by Aeroflex RAD
    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., 27 Oct. 2011. Aeroflex RAD, a division of Aeroflex Inc. in Colorado Springs, Colo., is introducing a family of radiation-tolerant analog-to-digital converters for military, aerospace, and high-reliability space applications. Using specially processed Linear Technology die, Aeroflex RAD’s A/D converter family meets Class-S radiation-hardened specifications. The rad-hard A/D converter family begins with the RAD1419 14-bit, 150-milliwatt power dissipation product packaged in a 28-lead flatpack. The device has total-dose radiation immunity to as much as 100 kilorads, and operates in the full military temperature range of -55 to 125 degrees Celsius. 
  • November 3, 2011 -- Intel D525 Pineview-based rugged, silent PC computer introduced by Stealth for vehicle and mobile applications
    WOODBRIDGE, Ontario, 3 Nov. 2011. Stealth.com Inc. in Woodbridge, Ontario, is introducing the model LPC-125LPFM rugged, small-footprint, fanless computer for industrial, mobile, in-vehicle, and embedded applications. The rugged, noise-free computer operates in temperatures from -10 to 45 degrees Celsius, draws less than 20 Watts of power, measures 4.6 by 6.1 by 2 inches -- slightly larger than a deck of playing cards -- and weighs 1.2 pounds, company officials say. The fanless mobile PC uses the Intel D525 Pineview 1.8 GHz microprocessor, operates from 10 to 26 volts of DC power for DC-powered applications in vehicle and mobile applications.
  • December 4, 2011 -- Rugged multiband data recording and playback system for vehicles, ships, and aircraft introduced by Pentek
    UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., 4 Dec. 2011. Pentek Inc. in Upper Saddle River, N.J., is introducing the RTR 2726 rugged, portable, multiband data recording and playback system for high-bandwidth IF and RF signals in shock- and vibration-prone environments such as vehicles, ships, and aircraft. The workstation, data acquisition, and solid-state RAID (redundant array of independent disks) recording system in a box is for the capture and playback of signals with frequencies as high as 700 MHz.
