  • December 20, 2011 -- Japan Ministry of Defense chooses Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II for Japan Air Self Defense Force next-gen fighter aircraft fleet
    FORT WORTH, Texas, 20 Dec. 2011. Japan Ministry of Defense officials have selected the Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) F-35 Lightning II as the Japan Air Self Defense Force's (JASDF) next-generation fighter aircraft. The initial contract calls for four F-35A conventional takeoff and landing variant (CTOL) aircraft in Japan Fiscal Year 2012, which begins April 1, 2012.

  • January 1, 2011 -- Satellite ground station equipment from ViaSat ordered for BFT-2
    CARLSBAD, Calif., 1 Jan. 2011. PM Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below ordered installation and test of production satellite ground station and satellite network control center equipment as well as L-band bandwidth leasing, network ground equipment, and thousands of additional production vehicular transceivers from ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq: VSAT) under the Blue Force Tracking 2 (BFT-2) IDIQ contract. These next generation BFT-2 systems are designed to enable much faster situational awareness updates and higher transmission speeds.
  • January 2, 2011 -- 10-Gigabit Ethernet MAC IP core for signals intelligence and information security introduced by Nallatech
    CAMARILLO, Calif., 2 Jan. 2011. Nallatech in Camarillo, Calif., is introducing a 10-Gigabit Ethernet media access controller (MAC) IP core for the company's PCIe-180 network accelerator card. This IP and hardware combination can reduce time to deployment in signals intelligence, deep-packet inspection, and information security applications.
  • January 5, 2011 -- Heterojunction bipolar transistor driver for wireless communications introduced by M/A-COM Tech
    LOWELL, Mass., 5 Jan. 2011. M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. in Lowell, Mass., is introducing the MAAM-009560 heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) driver amplifier for cellular and WiMAX infrastructure applications. This driver amplifier covers a frequency range of 250 to 4000 MHz with linearity of 42 dBm OIP3 over a greater than 20 dB input power range.
