  • January 7, 2011 -- 6U and 3U VPX CPU boards based on 2nd generation Intel Core processor introduced by Mercury for mil-apps
    CHELMSFORD, Mass. 7 Jan. 2011. Mercury Computer Systems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., is introducing the Ensemble series 6U OpenVPX LDS6521 and 3U OpenVPX SBC3510 embedded computing modules based on the 2nd generation Intel Core processor family. Mercury’s single-board computers are for demanding aerospace and defense applications, such as processing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) sensor data.
  • January 8, 2011 -- LynxSecure support announced for 2nd Generation Intel Core processor
    LAS VEGAS, Nev., 8 Jan. 2011. LynuxWorks, Inc., in San Jose, Calif., announced LynxSecure 4.0 support of the new second-generation Intel Core i7 and i5 processor families. LynxSecure is a separation kernel and embedded hypervisor that provides an environment in which multiple guest operating systems and their applications can execute at the same time, in their own virtual partitions.
  • January 9, 2011 -- Rugged 3U VPX CPU board based on 2nd Generation Intel Core processor introduced by Curtiss-Wright
    ASHBURN, Va., 9 Jan. 2011. Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing (CWCEC) in Ashburn, Va., is introducing the VPX3-1256 rugged, high performance 3U VPX single board computer based on the new 2nd Generation Intel Core processor family for harsh-environment, air and conduction-cooled aerospace and defense applications.. The VPX3-1256 is based on the Intel Core i7-next-generation quad-core processor.  
  • January 10, 2011 -- Mentor Graphics works with NASA to design, develop Precision Rad-Tolerant for advanced radiation effects mitigation
    WILSONVILLE, Ore., 10 Jan. 2011. Mentor Graphics Corp. developed its Precision Rad-Tolerant FPGA design software for aerospace and high-reliability applications with guidance from NASA officials. The company's synthesis-based radiation effects mitigation solution is designed to reduce the risk of functionality problems including soft errors caused by single event upset (SEU) and single event transient (SET) disruptions. Initial support is available for SRAM, anti-fuse, and flash-based devices from Actel and Xilinx.
  • January 11, 2011 -- 18-bit high-reliability A/D converter for industrial and automotive applications introduced by Linear
    MILPITAS, Calif., 11 Jan. 2011. Linear Technology Corp. in Milpitas, Calif., is introducing the LTC2379-18 serial 18-bit, 1.6-megasamples-per-second SAR analog to digital converter for high performance, high-reliability industrial, automotive, and medical applications. The LTC2379-18 operates over temperatures from -40 to 125 degrees Celsius, and achieves 101dB signal-to-noise ratio and -118dB total harmonic distortion while supporting a differential plus-or-minus 5-volt input range.
