Microwave tuners and IF technology for Navy SEWIP Block 2 electronic warfare program to come from Mercury

CHELMSFORD, Mass., 25 Jan. 2011. Electronic warfare systems integrators at the Lockheed Martin Mission Systems & Sensors (MS2) segment in Washington needed advanced radio frequency (RF) microwave tuner and intermediate frequency (IF) products as part of the U.S. Navy's Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 2 upgrade program. They found their solutions from Mercury Computer Systems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass.   
CHELMSFORD, Mass., 25 Jan. 2011.Electronic warfare systems integrators at the Lockheed Martin Mission Systems & Sensors (MS2) segment in Washington needed advanced radio frequency (RF) microwave tuners and intermediate frequency (IF) products as part of the U.S. Navy's Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 2 upgrade program. They found their solutions from Mercury Computer Systems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass.Lockheed Martin engineers chose the Mercury (NASDAQ: MRCY) Echotek series microwave tuner and digital receiver, which are optimized for fast tuning and high performance, Mercury officials say.Lockheed Martin MS2 is providing the Navy's SEWIP block 2 upgrade for the next-generation AN/SLQ-32(V) electronic support measures system, which is based on the company's Integrated Common Electronic Warfare System (ICEWS). The SEWIP block 2 upgrade will include receiver, antenna, and combat system interface.
