SANTA CLARA, Calif., 24 May 2011. Agilent Technologies Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif., is introducing the U4998A high-performance HDMI 1.4a protocol analyzer and generator that enables designers and engineers to test their devices for compliance with the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) 1.4a (CTS 1.4a) test specification.The High-Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, transmits uncompressed data among digital audio and video sources and other devices such as computer monitors and digital televisions. The HDMI 1.4 specification broadens the resolution of HDMI devices to 4K x 2K, which is able to transmit 3-D video signals.The Agilent U4998A test and measurement instrument replaces the company's N5998A. The new device has a U4998A AdvancedTCA Extensions for Instrumentation and Test (AXIe)-based module that supports source and sink compliance testing at data rates as fast as 3.4 gigabits per second.
The U4998A is compatible with Agilent's M9502A two-slot and M9505A five-slot AXIe modular chassis and U4002A two-slot AMP modular chassis for high-performance instrumentation.
