MINNEAPOLIS, 19 May 2011. Omnetics Connector Corp. in Minneapolis is introducing a rugged connector latching system for the Micro-D connector that replaces the screws with finger release side latches. The Latching Micro-D system, which quickly mates and de-mates without tools or the need to unscrew fasteners is for avionics, homeland security, instrumentation, and medical applications. The Omnetics Micro-D connector latching system offers a latching mechanism built in to a metal housing, or can retrofit existing Micro-Ds connector systems. It uses standard retention screw holes.
