Airbus takes orders for 187 passenger jetliners Wednesday, bringing 2011 Paris Air Show total to 452

PARIS, 22 June 2011. European passenger jet manufacturer Airbus of Toulouse, France, took orders for 187 passenger aircraft today at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, France, bringing the company's total aircraft sales at the 2011 Paris Air Show to 452. Aircraft involved are the Airbus A320 and A319 families. the aviation companies involved in the deals are Aviation Lease & Finance Co. (ALAFCO) in Kuwait City, Kuwait; LAN Airlines in Santiago, Chile; Republic Airways Holdings Inc. in Indianapolis; and AviancaTaca Holding Co. in Bogota, Colombia.

Aircraft involved are the Airbus A320 and A319 families. the aviation companies involved in the deals are Aviation Lease & Finance Co. (ALAFCO) in Kuwait City, Kuwait; LAN Airlines in Santiago, Chile; Republic Airways Holdings Inc. in Indianapolis; and AviancaTaca Holding Co. in Bogota, Colombia.Also today, Airbus firmed up orders with India budget airline IndiGo in Haryana, India, for 150 A320neo and 30 A320 passenger jetliners.Airbus made two passenger jet sales today with Kuwait aircraft leaser ALAFCO, one for 30 A320neo (new engine option) narrow-body jetliners and another for A350 XWB widebody jetliner.

Today also saw an Airbus deal with LAN Airlines for 20 A320neo jetliners; with Republic Airways Holdings -- parent company of Frontier Airlines -- for 40 A320neo and 40 A319neo jetliners; and with AviancaTaca for 51 A320 family aircraft, of which 33 will the A320neo version.
