Boeing kicks off Paris Air Show aircraft sales with order for six 777-300ER jumbo jets fro Qatar Airways

PARIS, 20 June 2011. Aircraft sales at the Paris Air Show got off to a nice start this morning in Le Bourget, France, as the Boeing Co. Commercial Airplanes segment in Seattle announced an order from Qatar Airways in Doha, Qatar for six 777-300ER jumbo passenger jets for $1.7 billion at list prices. Qatar Airways operates eight ultra-long range Boeing 777-200LR long-range passenger jets today, as well as 15 777-300ERs and two long-range 777 freighters.
PARIS, 20 June 2011. Aircraft sales at the Paris Air Show got off to a nice start this morning in Le Bourget, France, as the Boeing Co. Commercial Airplanes segment in Seattle announced an order from Qatar Airways in Doha, Qatar for six 777-300ER jumbo passenger jets for $1.7 billion at list prices. Qatar Airways operates eight ultra-long range Boeing 777-200LR long-range passenger jets today, as well as 15 777-300ERs and two long-range 777 freighters.Qatar Airways operates 25 Boeing (NYSE:BA) 777 versions, and this model aircraft is the backbone of the airline's fleet, says Akbar Al Baker, chief executive officer of Qatar Airways. Qatar Airways took its first delivery of its Boeing 777 fleet in November 2007. Fifteen of these aircraft versions are pending delivery to Qatar Airways, Boeing officials say.

The Boeing 777 twin-engine widebody jet family can fly point-to-point nonstop to bypass crowded and busy hub airports, Boeing officials say. This order was previously accounted for on Boeing's Orders and Deliveries website as unidentified in 2011.
