X3 hybrid demonstrator and EC175 helicopters from Eurocopter part of daily flight schedule during Paris Air Show

The X3 hybrid demonstrator and EC175 helicopter from Eurocopter will be showcased during the Paris Air Show 2011 at Le Bourget Airport during flight demonstrations. Eurocopter will also have static displays of its enhanced EC145 T2 and AS350 B3e helicopters; the EC135 law enforcement version; an AS565 Panther outfitted with the Stand Alone Weapon System (SAWS); and a version of the EC175 designed for search and rescue operations. The X3 demonstrator is has a five-blade main rotor system and two propellers on shortspan fixed wings -- which delivers improved vertical takeoff and landing capabilities. It also has fast cruise speeds and maneuverability. Applications for the X3 include long-distance search and rescue missions, border patrol missions coast guard duties, passenger transport, inter-city shuttle services, and offshore operations.
