General Dynamics Itronix in Sunrise, Fla., is introducing the GD3015 semi-rugged tablet PC for field in the field by police and other law-enforcement officers, utilities workers, truck drivers and other transportation workers, warehouse workers and other industry field services. The GD3015 rugged tablet computer meets IP54 for dust and water resistance, and MIL-STD-810F for shock, vibration, rain, sand, and dust.

The Intel Atom-powered rugged tablet has a 10.4-inch sunlight-readable touch-screen display that accepts inputs from a gloved hand, and has a security chip and user authentication software that protect against unauthorized access.

The rugged tablet weighs less than three pounds, comes with Microsoft Windows 7 operating system software, embedded security, 3G wireless network connectivity, and offers magnetic stripe reader, bar code scanner, and camera.
