Oracle to acquire GoAhead Software, expand communications portfolio

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., 1 Oct. 2011. Oracle officials have entered into an agreement to acquire GoAhead Software, developer of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) service availability software for aerospace and defense applications. Oracle’s Communications Industry Portfolio expands with the addition of standards-based Service Availability Software for network equipment providers (NEPs) and systems integrators moving to a standardized software and hardware platform that can deliver and manage highly available services.

Oracle’s Communications Industry Portfolio expands with the addition of standards-based Service Availability Software for network equipment providers (NEPs) and systems integrators moving to a standardized software and hardware platform that can deliver and manage highly available services.

GoAhead’s software is based on Service Availability Forum (SAF) specifications. Oracle has been an active member of the Service Availability Forum and OpenSAF communities.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close before the end of 2011.
