L-3 WESCAM to deliver MX-10 electro-optical/infrared imaging turrets to Middle Eastern customer

L-3 WESCAMPosted by Courtney E. Howard

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 15 Nov. 2011. L-3 WESCAM, a designer and manufacturer of stabilized, multi-spectral airborne imaging systems, has received an order from Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments Co. LLC (ADASI) for eight of its MX-10 electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) imaging systems. The turrets, to be employed on the S-100 unmanned aircraft system (UAS) platform, will assist with surveillance duties. Deliveries will begin in December 2011 and will be completed by March 2012.

This order of eight units marks the second one L-3 WESCAM has received from a Middle Eastern company in 2011.

“ADASI flight tests with the MX-10 earlier this year were very successful in showcasing both the superior surveillance capabilities and nominal installation and integration requirements of our sensor systems,” says Paul Jennison, vice president of government sales and business development for L-3 WESCAM.
