PCI-Systems Inc. in Sunnyvale, Calif., is introducing the SandStorm solid-state drive, which uses NAND Flash memory to extend the endurance and overall reliability of solid-state drives and make the most of read and write performance. PCI Systems offers two SandStorm drives -- a 1-terabyte drive that is 9.5 millimeters high, and a 2-terabyte drive that is 12.5 millimeters high. SandStorm is based on SATA III data storage technology; has a 2.5-inch SATA form factor; high read and write speeds; encryption; fast secure erase; and is SATA compatible.
