  • September 28, 2012 -- Sikorsky to provide helicopters and support to U.S. Army
    STRATFORD, Conn., 28 Sept. 2012. Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., an aircraft manufacturer based in Stratford, Conn. and a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX), will be providing the U.S. Army with additional UH-60M Plus-Up helicopters and support for Black Hawk systems in a series of three contract modifications.

The increased volume of software in aerospace and defense applications has created a demand for software that can trace software problems back to their source and make way for product lines based on similar hardware and different software.
  • August 14, 2012 -- Data Link Solutions to provide U.S. and foreign militaries with MIDS-LVT systems
    CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, 14 Aug. 2012. Data Link Solutions, a communications company based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been selected to provide the U.S. Navy and several foreign militaries with the multifunctional information distribution system - low volume terminals (MIDS-LVT). The MIDS-LVT enables secure, jam resistant, high capacity, digital data and voice communications capability. The contract is valued at $18.5 million.

  • July 28, 2012 -- Army invests in technology to counter chemical and biological warfare
    ABERDEEN, Md., 28 July 2012. The U.S. Army is taking steps towards detecting and defeating chemical and biological weapons. After the revision of an annoucement from the U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) the Army has awarded EXCET Inc., a services and technology firm in Springfield, Va. that focuses on supporting government entities, a $7.8 million research and development contract in support of technology to detect chemical and biological agents.
