SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., 26 Jan. 2012. Meggitt Sensing Systems in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., is introducing the Endevco model 2273A series radiation-hardened piezoelectric accelerometers for vibration measurements within nuclear and power generation environments such as monitoring pipes, fans, turbines, loose parts, and other structures in nuclear and conventional power plants. Offered with a high sensitivity of 10 pC/g, even with its high-temperature operation, the Endevco model 2273A series is available in top (model 2273AM20) and side connector (model 2273AM1) versions.

Offered with a high sensitivity of 10 pC/g, even with its high-temperature operation, the Endevco model 2273A rad-hard sensors are available in top (model 2273AM20) and side connector (model 2273AM1) versions. Both are radiation hardened for exposures to gamma flux up to 6.2 x 1010 and integrated neutron flux up to 3.7 x 1018 N/cm2.

The piezoelectric accelerometers provide flat temperature response over a range of -184 399 degrees Celsius and operate at frequencies to 6000 Hz. Sensing elements are housed in a rugged stainless steel package, which is hermetically sealed and allows for mechanical isolation of bending motion from the mounting base and low base strain sensitivity.

Sensors are supplied with the Endevco model 3075M6-120, a 10-32 to 10-32 high-temperature hardline cable assembly with fiberglass jacket; a 10-32 mounting stud; and an installation wrench. Optional accessories, sold separately, include the Endevco model 3090C-XXX low-noise Teflon jacketed coaxial cable, for use in temperatures 260 C (+500°F); the Endevco model 2981-4 10-32 to M5 mounting stud; the model 133 three-channel piezoelectric signal conditioner; or the model 2771C-XX remote charge converter.
