Air-cooled Freescale QorIQ-powered embedded computing mezzanine board introduced by X-ES

MIDDLETON, Wis., 8 March 2012. Extreme Engineering Solutions Inc. (X-ES) in Middleton, Wis., is introducing the XPedite5400 air-cooled ProcessorPMC (PrPMC) and XMC embedded computing module with the Freescale QorIQ P3, P4, and P5 processor for military embedded systems and other embedded computing applications that call for a range of power, performance requirements.

(X-ES) in Middleton, Wis., is introducing the XPedite5400 air-cooled ProcessorPMC (PrPMC) and XMC embedded computing module with the Freescale QorIQ P3, P4, and P5 processor for military embedded systems and other embedded computing applications that call for a range of power, performance requirements.

The XPedite5400 supports five processors across the QorIQ P3, P4, and P5 processor families, including the P4040 processor with four PowerPC e500mc cores with speeds to 1.5 GHz; the P4080 processor with eight PowerPC e500mc cores with speeds to 1.5 GHz; the P3041 processor with four PowerPC e500mc cores with speeds to 1.5 GHz; the P5010 processor with one 64-bit PowerPC e5500 core with speeds to 2 GHz; and the P5020 processor with two 64-bit PowerPC e5500 cores with speeds to 2 GHz.

Features include two channels of DDR3-1333 ECC SDRAM with much as 8 gigabytes (4 gigabytes each); as much as 16 gigabytes of user flash and 256 megabytes of boot flash (with redundancy); three Gigabit Ethernet ports; x4 PCI Express interface to P15 and two SATA 3.0-gigabit-per-second ports to XMC site; and software support that includes Linux, Wind River VxWorks, and Green Hills Integrity BSPs.
