Boeing and Elbit Systems sign MOU for technology investment in Brazil

BRASILIA, Brazil, March 6, 2012. The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] and Elbit Systems of America have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will support the development of advanced avionics capabilities in Brazil.

Boeing has selected Elbit to provide the Large Area Display system that will be part of an advanced cockpit system to be offered on Boeing fighter aircraft, including the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and the F-15 family of aircraft, including the Silent Eagle. As a supplier to Boeing fighter aircraft programs, Elbit has is investing in the development of advanced cockpit avionics capabilities at its subsidiary in Brazil, AEL Sistemas S.A. of Porto Alegre.


The MOU outlines opportunities for AEL Sistemas to participate in the design, development, production and support of some Large Area Display software and hardware. This work will also support Elbit and AEL Sistemas' efforts to establish an Advanced Cockpit Technology Center of Excellence in Brazil.
