CHARLOTTE, N.C., 14 March, 2012. Curtiss-Wright Controls, Inc. announced that it has received a $142 thousand contract from Sechan Electronics to provide a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) network switch processor for use in the Ground Based Operational Surveillance System (G-BOSS) Electronics Payload Interface Box (EPIB) for the U.S. Marine Corps. Curtiss-Wright Controls will supply its rugged VME DMV-682 Gigabit Ethernet Switch card to Sechan Electronics to provide managed network switching for the G-BOSS program. The initial contract for the demonstration phase of the program is valued at $142 thousand, while the potential lifetime value of the contract is valued at over $5 million. Shipments have begun and are scheduled to continue through 2016.
The G-BOSS surveillance system has multiple variants, from a portable backpack configuration to a version that includes tower-mounted sensors on a trailer to detect movement at long distances.
The Curtiss-Wright Controls facility in Ottawa, Canada, is manufacturing the products covered by this agreement. The products are being shipped to Sechan Electronics, in Lititz, PA.
