AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 27 Aug. 2012. Rakon has launched a new, ultra-low-noise crystal oscillator for defense avionics, radars (ground, naval, and airborne), test and measurement, synthesizer, and communications applications.

Designed to deliver impressive phase noise performance, the new oven controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO) is designed for the most demanding phase noise applications in the instrumentation and defense industries.

The LNO (Low Noise Oscillator) 100 series at 100 MHz offers guaranteed phase noise levels of: -165 dBc/Hz @ 1 KHz and -178 dBc/Hz @ 10 KHz. The LNO also provides rapid warm up, excellent temperature stability, and low g- sensitivity. The LNO 100 series devices are available in sizes from 51 x 51 x 25 mm down to 25 x 25 x 12 mm, in surface-mount (SMD) or through-hole packages, and with SMA (SubMiniature version A) connectors.
