Compact SATCOM amplifier for military communications introduced by Comtech Xicom

SANTA CLARA, Calif., 9 Sept. 2012. Comtech Xicom Technology Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif., is introducing the XTS-40KHE-B1 compact, lightweight, and efficient solid-state Ku-band block up converter (BUC) for transportable military and commercial satellite communications (SATCOM) uplinks.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., 9 Sept. 2012. Comtech Xicom Technology Inc. in Santa Clara, Calif., is introducing the XTS-40KHE-B1 compact, lightweight, and efficient solid-state Ku-band block up converter (BUC) for transportable military and commercial satellite communications (SATCOM) uplinks.

The XTS-40KHE-B1 SATCOM amplifier offers 40 Watts of P1 output power and provides 20 Watts of linear power for SATCOM uplinks. The self-cooled, feed-mountable amplifier consumes 210 Watts when operated at linear power (story continues below).

The XTS-40KHE-B1 offers temperature compensation, gain control, harmonic filtering, receive-band filtering, and an output isolator. The unit weighs less than 10 pounds and measures 11.2 inches long by 4.4 inches high by 5.4 inches wide.
