WASHINGTON, D.C., 23 Oct. 2012. Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has developed a solution that deliver new levels of performance to address evolving threats in response to the complex national and multi-national requirements for integrated air and missile defense. The DIAMONDShield command and control (C2) platform links sensor and weapon data with map-based C2 capabilities to provide operators with a wide range of decision-support aids that enables them to plan and execute air defense missions.

DIAMONDShield offers an integrated capability that enables commanders and their air operations center staffs to quickly analyze multiple sources of information, assisting them in making swift, efficient decisions regarding the deployment of combat air forces, Lockheed Martin officials say.

The DIAMONDShield solution responds to the growing range of weapons capable of delivering threats by land, sea, air and space. The system hosts a suite of integrated air and missile defense capabilities that enables warfighters to manage a continuous C2 cycle, operating at the speed of the battlespace. Visualization is presented in a set of graphical displays with selectable features in 2D, 3D, and 4D. At the core of the product is a modern service oriented architecture, enabling sensors-to-shooter integration and interoperability with a wide range of tactical communications, sensors, weapons and existing legacy systems. The interoperability enabled by DIAMONDShield helps ensure C4ISR operations across services and coalition operations.
