15-inch touch-screen rugged panel computer for industrial automation introduced by AAEON

TAIPEI, Taiwan, 27 Feb. 2013. AAEON Technology in Taipei, Taiwan, is introducing the ACP-2153 15-inch touch-screen rugged panel computer for non-protruding or sink-in display requirements in industrial automation, factory automation, smart buildings, home automation, utility, and energy applications.

This panel PC rugged display features waterproof and 7H scratch-proof glass-covered borders for installation to match the height of the surrounding walls by adjusting the panel mount brackets for different wall depths.

The panel PC operates in temperatures from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius, has luminance of 400 candela per square meter (cd/m2), and 9-to-30-volt DC input. The 2-point multi-touch HMI touch panel computer uses the Intel Atom D2550 1.86 GHz processor with built-in passive cooling.

The fanless panel computer provides as much as 4 gigabytes of DDR3 memory, two Gigabit Ethernet ports for internet access, a mini PCI Express card slot, and a 2.5-inch SATA hard disk drive or CFast data storage.

The ACP-2153 features two USB 2.0 ports, three COM ports, one Line-out, and one VGA port for interface options. The display has a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels and a projective capacitive touch screens.

The panel PC comes with the AAEON-developed Hi-Safe program to enable Microsoft Windows users to create their own user interface without additional coding. The computer supports Windows XP, Windows 7, and Linux Fedora.
