Rugged industrial embedded computer with Intel Atom D510 processor introduced by Moxa

BREA, Calif., 7 March 2013. Moxa Inc. in Brea, Calif., is introducing the DA-681 rugged industrial embedded computer for hardened networking, communications, and computing applications. The all-purpose substation computer is for smart grids and other industrial computing applications.

BREA, Calif., 7 March 2013. Moxa Inc. in Brea, Calif., is introducing the DA-681 rugged industrial embedded computer for hardened networking, communications, and computing applications. The all-purpose substation computer is for smart grids and other industrial computing applications.

Features like the Intel Atom D510 processor and a fanless design merge in the DA-685 with six RS-485 terminal block ports, two RS-232/422/485 software-selectable serial ports, two USB 2.0 ports, six 10/100/1000-megabit-per-second Ethernet ports. Data storage comes from a CompactFlash socket and one SATA interface.

The DA-685 supports the IEEE 1588v2 standard as an ordinary clock, allowing for sub-microsecond syncing. The unit is EMC Level 4 certified to withstand extreme levels of electromagnetic interference.

The DA-685 comes in a standard 19-inch, 2U high form factor. Software support includes Linux or Windows Embedded Standard 2009 operating systems, which are pre-installed.
