Power measurement sensor for radar and automotive uses introduced by Rohde & Schwarz

MUNICH, March 15, 2013. Test and measurement specialist Rohde & Schwarz in Munich is introducing the R&S NRP-Z58 power sensor for military and industrial radar systems operating at 94 GHz, or for automotive applications at 77 GHz, such as automatic cruise control and collision warnings.

The test & measurement sensor's measuring speed is more than 300 measurements per second in buffered mode, and its range is 55 dB (-35 dBm to 20 dBm). When performing relative measurements such as amplification and reflection measurements, the R&S NRP-Z58 delivers precise measurement results thanks to its linearity of 0.01 dB.

The ball bearing 1.00-millimeter coaxial plug can be screwed onto the jack of the measuring instrument to provide measurement reproducibility.

The R&S NRP-Z58 can connect to a PC via a USB interface to analyze measurement results. It also can function together with the R&S NRP2 base unit.

In addition, the power sensor helps users working in development, production and maintenance to determine the average power of continuous-wave (CW) signals, pulsed signals, or complex digitally modulated signals.
