Five- and six-slot OpenVPX backplanes for embedded computing introduced by Pixus

WATERLOO, Ontario, 28 May 2013. Pixus Technologies in Waterloo, Ontario, is introducing a 5- and 6-slot OpenVPX backplanes for embedded computing development systems.

WATERLOO, Ontario, 28 May 2013. Pixus Technologies in Waterloo, Ontario, is introducing a 5- and 6-slot OpenVPX backplanes for embedded computing development systems.

The 5-slot backplane has a mesh topology, while the 6-slot version has a distributed topology. The backplanes are designed for speeds from 3.125 to 6.25 gigabaud per second and come with or without RTM connectors.

The OpenVPX backplane product line from Pixus come in various VITA 65-compliant backplane profiles and to VITA 46 specifications. The 3U and 6U backplanes can be designed to specific customer profiles.

Options for the Pixus VPX backplanes include incorporating legacy VME64x slots (for 6U versions), various power configurations, optical signal connections per VITA 66, conformal coating, and more. Pixus also offers industrial and MIL/rugged chassis solutions.
