EL MONTE, Calif., 8 Sept. 2013.rugged computer specialist American Reliance Inc. (AMREL) in El Monte, Calif., is introducing major upgrades for its line of rugged tablet computers, which make the ROCKY DR10 8.4-inch and ROCKY DK10 12.1-inch tablets are faster, brighter, and tougher, company officials say.

The ROCKY DR10 and DK10 rugged tablets are for applications that demand portability, capability, and ruggedness, such as operator control, communication management, avionics testing, data acquisition and control, supply chain logistics, field data collection, homeland security and law enforcement, as well as geological and scientific field research.

For the ROCKY DR10 8.4-inch rugged tablet, AMREL has added an Intel Core i7 processor, brighter display, improved memory, and longer-lasting battery.

The DR10 has been independently certified for MIL-STDs 810 and 461. ROCKY rugged tablets have proven their durability on several battlefields, earning them a Technical Readiness Level (TRL) of 9, AMREL officials say.

The ROCKY DK10 12.1-inch rugged tablet features upgraded standard NITS rating, improved the graphic card, night vision option, and expanded mobile broadband options to offer a greater choice of carriers.

The DK10 benefits from a Intel Core i7 processor. Both tablets require minimal reconfiguring. The ROCKY DR10 and DK10 tablets are designed to be modified to match specific requirements.
