CONCORD, Calif., 2 March 2014. Calex Mfg. Co. Inc. in Concord, Calif., is introducing the MBH series DC-DC converters for harsh shock-and-vibration environments in military, industrial, and commercial applications.

The MBH offers as much as 2100 Watts in a 9-by-6.5-by-1.25-inch ruggedized chassis-mount package. The module weighs 3.3 pounds, and offers power efficiency of as much as 97 percent through the use of high-efficiency synchronous rectification, advanced electronic circuitry, and thermal design.

The power electronics devices operate in temperatures from -40 to 95 degrees Celsius, and store in temperatures from -55 to 100 C.

The MBH series consists of five models. Three of the models offer a 10-to-16-volt DC input range for 12-volt mobile applications. The outputs are 28 volts DC at 40, 60, and 75 Amps. The remaining two models have a 23-to-32-volt DC input range with output voltages of 12 and 13.5 volts DC, both at 100 Amps.

All models are regulated and no minimum load is required for any of the MBH models. The MBH topology uses a fixed switching frequency of 400 kHz. All models have ON/OFF, non latching output over-voltage protection, thermal shutdown with auto restart, input reverse polarity protection, operating surge protection, and short-circuit protection.
