PCI Express computer board for use with surface warship NTDS systems introduced by Sabtech

Data communications specialist Sabtech in Yorba Linda, Calif., is introducing the Super Swift PCI Express processor board that can operate aboard Navy ships and submarines with Navy Tactical Data System (NTDS) data, or as a stand-alone computer or system co-processor.
YORBA LINDA, Calif., 13 Feb. 2014. Data communications specialist Sabtech in Yorba Linda, Calif., is introducing the Super Swift PCI Express processor board that can operate aboard Navy ships and submarines with Navy Tactical Data System (NTDS) data, or as a stand-alone computer or system co-processor.

The embedded computing board has an integrated ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core System on Chip (SoC). Sabtech introduced the new product this week at the AFCEA West conference and trade show in San Diego.

The computer board represents a technological leap from Sabtech's Swift family of MIL-STD-1397C NTDS interface boards, Sabtech officials say. It has an integrated ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core system on chip (SoC), runs Linux with access to the NTDS channel, and can operate by itself without a host processor or backplane for applications requiring small size, weight, and power (SWaP).
