With its quick-release hard drive for data storage, users can inter-swap either 500-gigabyte or 750-gigabyte hard drives by turning a couple of knobs. Configurations with solid state drives also are available. Additional storage is provided through a 5.25-inch Super Multi-Slot type optical disc drive. Two DDR3 SODIMM slots provide 4 gigabytes, 8 gigabytes, or 16 gigabytes of memory each.

Its lithium-ion battery provides an eight-hour-shift's worth of power, and if duty calls for a longer life, the second-battery design can accommodate another battery that boosts battery life to 12 hours while adding hot-swap support.
