EL SEGUNDO, Calif., 26 Nov. 2014. International Rectifier (IR) in El Segundo, Calif., is introducing a family of insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) modules for high-power industrial applications including motor drive inverters, switch mode power supplies (SMPS), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), solar inverters and welding.

The power electronics family uses IR's NPT with planar-gate and field stop with trench-gate rugged IGBT technologies and diode technology in industry-standard packages with a broad array of configurations and current ratings.

The family of 72 modules is available with voltage ratings of 600 or 1200 volts and a variety of speeds and short-circuit ratings IR's family of modules is qualified to industrial grade and has an environmentally friendly and RoHS compliant bill of materials.
