Rugged 2U computer server for military and industrial applications introduced by Crystal Group

HIAWATHA, Iowa, 2 Feb. 2015. Crystal Group Inc. in Hiawatha, Iowa, is introducing the RS2516PS18 rugged 2U computer server for use in harsh environments like military, oil and gas, mining, and other industrial applications.

The rugged server is constructed of lightweight carbon fiber and strain-hardened aircraft aluminum, provides high data storage, is 18 inches deep, and weighs 25 pounds.

The server can be configured for 24 9-millimeter solid-state drives or 16 hot-swappable 2.5-inch 15-millimeter drives. The RS2516PS18 contains rear I/O for power and SAS connections and can be mounted on Jonathan rails or Delrin glides. The server operates in temperatures from -40 to 55 degrees Celsius.

The RS2516PS18 is an air cooled unit with six high-speed, high-volume, and low-noise fans. It runs on a 460-Watt AC power supply or a 425-Watt 18-to-36-volt DC supply.

The rugged data storage device is available with optional humidity and EMI kits and is covered by a 5-year warranty. The unit meets MIL-STD-810, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-461, and FCC Class A certification.
