FREMONT, Calif., 5 Feb. 2015. Elma Electronic Inc. in Fremont, Calif., is introducing the S50G-1 rugged, mobile, modular, high performance embedded computer for demanding mobile environments in defense, industry, homeland security, and agriculture.

The modular COM Express-based computer includes a Cisco-certified routing engine complete with mobile routing protocols for network attached equipment on the move. Elma is an approved Cisco Solutions Technology Partner.

The rugged computer has standard I/O and the Intel 4th-generation processing power and graphics support with a ruggedized, compact design. Mobile users can establish ad hoc networks quickly as nodes, and solid-state drive storage is expandable to 64 gigabytes.

The modular system uses industry standard Type 6 COM Express, XMC/PMC and mini-PCI Express modules. Designed for adaptability, the S50G-1 includes a PMC/XMC site, dual mini-PCI Express sites, and Elma's unique mid I/O card that eliminates the typical carrier design for high speed XMC I/O signals.
