CLACTON-ON-SEA, England, 9 March 2015. Pickering Interfaces in Clacton-on-Sea, England, is introducing the model 50-294 PCI programmable resistor and relay card and model 40-294 PXI programmable resistor and relay module for test and measurement systems.

The PCI and PXI programmable resistors offer low density and lower cost for simulating variable resistors; 12 resistor channel options with resolution from 0.25 to 2 Ohms and channel counts of either two or four.

The power electronics devices also have the option of adding eight SPST relays for extending resistance range or other switching functions within a test system. Their use potentially saves the addition of further switching products within a test system.

Basic accuracy is plus-or-minus 1 percent resolution, and each version uses high quality instrument grade reed relays to ensure long service life and fast setting times.

Offering the programmable resistors in different PXI and PCI form factors enables users to choose the most appropriate platform for their test system.
