CHELMSFORD, Mass., 21 April 2015. Mercury Systems Inc. in Chelmsford, Mass., is introducing the secure AdvancedTCA (ATCA) Ensemble server-class compute modules to help bring ATCA embedded computing technology to the tactical edge in military applications.

Mercury's secure ATCA Ensemble building blocks capitalize on OpenVPX processing densities and the company's fourth generation server-class thermal management technologies.

The first versions of Mercury's secure ATCA processing building blocks include the Ensemble HDS8613 dual Intel Xeon server-class processor blade and the Ensemble SFM8104 40 gigabits per second Ethernet/InfiniBand switch.

The HDS8613 high density server (HDS) blade's dual 12-core processors with Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (AVX2) and Intel QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) are supported with up to 128-gigabyte DDR4-2133 SDRAM to deliver a combined 1.38 trillion floating point operations per second of general-purpose processing power. The blade has an AMC mezzanine site.

The SFM8104 secure ATCA switch fabric module (SFM) supports either 40-gigabit-per-second Ethernet or InfiniBand and uses advanced signal routing techniques that enable switch fabric speeds unrestricted by bit error rates.

The processor blade and switch fabric module are packaged in single-slot, 8U ATCA modules and share ruggedization and cooling enhancements inherited from OpenVPX.
