MISSION VIEJO, Calif., 6 Aug. 2015. Holt Integrated Circuits in Mission Viejo, Calif., is introducing the MAMBA family of MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-STD-1760 avionics databus interface devices in an ultra-compact form factor.

The MAMBA family is available in a 48-pin PQFP or 6-by-6-millimeter quad flat pack package. The MAMBA family has four devices that provide various combinations of bus controller (BC), monitor terminal (MT) or remote terminal (RT) functions, with all options having a 40 MHz serial peripheral host interface (SPI) and integrated dual transceivers on-chip.

The HI-6138 includes all terminal functions, BC, MT and RT. HI-6137, HI-6136 and HI-6135 include BC/RT, RT/MT and RT functions respectively. All devices have internal static RAM of 8K x 17-bit words and allow concurrent autonomous operation of their individual terminals, minimizing repeated host intervention.

This devices offer device selection with appropriate terminal combinations. The 8K x 17-bit RAM available on all devices has built-in parity checking and provides the host CPU with an optional programmable interrupt.
