MANSFIELD, Mass., 26 Aug. 2015. Murata Power Solutions in Mansfield, Mass., is introducing the NMUSB202MC surface mount powered data isolator module for industrial controls, sensor communications, and harsh-environment power electronics applications.

The module provides dual-port USB data and power isolation from one upstream port. When used with a host controller, one NMUSB202MC module counts as two USB hubs for cascaded applications and provides 5-volt/500 milliamps power to each downstream port.

The device's 250VRMS reinforced isolation provides safety, immunity to EMI, and elimination of ground loops.

The NMUSB202MC module's compliance with USB 2.0 specification enables plug-and-play operation with USB-compatible devices. The module is able to switch automatically between 12 megabits per second and 1.5 megabits per second.

The module has an operating range from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius, and offers high insulation resistance and 3-kilovolt isolation. Advanced surface-mount design enables the USB isolation function with one SMT component.
