LE HAILLAN, France, 15 Oct. 2015. Gaia Converter in Le Haillan, France, is introducing the MGDD-21 series high-reliability wide input voltage range DC-DC converters for military and airborne applications.

The 9-to-60-volt 60- and 80-volt transient input voltage ranges of the MGDD-21 series power electronics devices comply with Mil-Std-1275, 704 or DO-160 standards without additional front end protection device.

This performance comes from Gaia's proprietary switching techniques while also keeping efficiency of more than 90 percent. The power electronics devices have outputs of 5, 12, 15 or 24 volts for parallel, serial, or symmetrical operation.

The devices can cover needs such as single 5-to-48-volt output, and-15- or 2-by-24-volt outputs of 10 Watts each. Packaged 1-by-1.25-by-0.3-inch housing, the MGDD-21 series operate in temperatures from -55 to 105 degrees Celsius and are encapsulated to fit rugged military and airborne environmental conditions.

The units are protected with zero to full load regulation, trim and on/off capability, adjustable UVLO, soft start, sync, embedded EMI filter, as well as over-current and over-temperature protection. The MGDDI-21 series do not use any opto coupler.
