ROCKLIN, Calif., 6 Jan. 2016. Galil Motion Control Inc. in Rocklin, Calif., is introducing the RIO-574x0 EtherCAT slave I/O controller for remote use in an EtherCAT automation system.

Although the RIO-574x0 can be used with any generic EtherCAT master, it is designed to integrate into an EtherCAT system with Galil's DMC-500x0 EtherCAT master.

All RIO-574x0 I/O controllers have 16 opto-isolated digital inputs and 16 500-milliamp sourcing opto-isolated digital outputs. The RIO-57420 also includes eight 4-20-milliamp analog inputs and eight analog outputs, both configurable in the ranges of 0-5-, 0-10-, ±5- or ±10-volts (12-bit standard, 16-bit option available).

All I/O are accessible via convenient screw terminals. LED indicators are provided for all digital I/O points. Designed to be a compact solution, the RIO-574x0's dimensions are 4.24 by 4.81 by 2.35 inches.
