Air Force to brief industry 21 June on airborne electro-optical sensor program for surveillance

U.S. Air Force researchers will brief industry from 9:30 to noon on 21 June 2016 on efforts to advance electro-optical sensor technologies for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR), targeting, and situational awareness for manned and unmanned aircraft.

Officials of the Air Force Research Laboratory's sensors directorate at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, will reveal details of the Electro-Optical Combined Hyperspectral Imaging, Infrared Search and Track, and Long Range Imaging R&D (EO-CHIL) project during the industry-day briefings.

The EO-CHIL project relates to an upcoming broad agency announcement (BAA-AFRL-RQKS-2016-0010) that will be released next September or October.

The objective of this contract is to conduct Research and Development to advance and mature the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) portfolio of electro-optical sensors and related technology for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), targeting and situation awareness for manned, remotely piloted, and autonomous aircraft.

Industry briefings will be at the Wright Brothers Institute: Tec^Edge Innovation & Collaboration Center, 5000 Springfield St., Suite #100, in Dayton, Ohio.

Briefings will be to conduct discussions and answer questions among organizations. Attendance will be limited to two persons per company. Conference call capability will be available.
