KEMP, Texas, 23 Dec. 2016. Larson Electronics LLC in Kemp, Texas, is introducing the DCP-5-HD heavy duty power converter for indoor and outdoor operation of equipment that requires 12/24 volts DC current. The 5 amp waterproof power supply converts commonly used 120-240 volts AC electrical current to 12 or 24 volts DC.

The DCP-5-HD includes an optional industrial-grade male plug and three feet of cable on the input end and an optional female receptacle on the other end.

This power transformer has an IP67 rated waterproof design, making it suitable for indoor or outdoor use and is wet area approved. It includes short circuit, over voltage, over temperature, and overload protection that will shut the unit down or reduce output in case of faults and overloads.

This transformer is enclosed in a weatherproof enclosure with a strap for carrying and mounting. "This unit will limit current when an over current condition is encountered and recovers when the condition is no longer a threat, protecting the equipment that is connected to the unit," says Rob Bresnahan, chief executive officer of Larson Electronics.

"It is recommended that you do not exceed 75 percent of the unit's output amperage to obtain the best performance and longest operational life," Bresnahan.
