Rugged 360-degree camera for use on UAVs, vehicles, boats, and people introduced by Garmin

OLATHE, Kan. – Garmin International Inc. in Olathe, Kan., is introducing the VIRB 360 compact, rugged and spherical 360-degree camera for applications such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that require image stabilization.

The waterproof VIRB 360 can capture high-quality video as quickly as 5,700 pixels at 30 frames per second. the camera has four built-in microphones, and delivers smooth and steady video.

The VIRB 360 captures video with automatic in-camera stitching at 4,000-pixel resolution at 30 frames per second. Users can upload video for editing or sharing. It has a built-in GPS, and provides owners with customizable G-Metrix data overlays in a 360-degree augmented reality setting.

Garmin offers a free downloadable VIRB Mobile app and desktop software to edit, stabilize, share, and add data overlays to any VIRB 360 video content.

The camera has one-touch button controls, as well as voice control options to start and stop recordings and snap photos. the camera also has live stream capabilities to post to YouTube or Facebook Live with a compatible smartphone or tablet.

The VIRB 360 offers a rechargeable, one-hour battery life while recording, and is built to withstand overheating and wet conditions. It also can take stitched-in-camera, 360-degree, 15 megapixel spherical photos.

Photo modes include single capture, burst shooting, time lapse, and Travelapse that turns hours of lengthy 360-degree video moments into minutes of memorable highlights. It has a sunlight-readable display for users to identify battery life, storage capacity, and video modes.
