BLACKSBURG, Va. – VPT Inc. in Blacksburg, Va., is introducing the dual output VXR series DC-DC converters for applications ranging from military ground vehicles to commercial and military aircraft.

These high-reliability commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products feature wide input voltage ranges and advanced packaging technology for operation in harsh environments. The VXR series includes single- and dual-output offerings from 7 to 100 Watts as well as 2-to-20-amp EMI filters.

The DC-DC converters feature two independently controlled and isolated outputs for zero cross-regulation. Users can configure each output as positive, negative, or stacked, and order output voltages as unmatched pairs.

The VXR series features VPT's proprietary V-SHIELD advanced packaging technology -- an epoxy encapsulation that incorporates EMI shielding and dual-sided thermal conduction to resist the effects of chemical, solvent, and salt environments.

The VXR series single-output converters meet the 100-volt surge requirement of MIL-STD-1275 as well as DO-160. The 100-volt surge operation is achieved without adding external components to the converters.
