Radiation-hardened single-board computer for satellites and manned spacecraft introduced by DDC

The SCS750G4 has SpaceWire interfaces, Flash memory, silicon-on-insulator Power PC processors, and DDC RAD-PAK rad-hard memories with triple-redundant processing algorithms that provide error detection and correction.

These enable the computer board to achieve single-event upset (SEE) performance of less than one error in 80 years for demanding space applications.

Since inception more than 20 years ago DDC's electronic components and single-board computers have experienced zero failures in space, company officials say.

These boards have total-dose radiation of 100 kilorads, seamless error correction, software-controlled speed of 200 million to 800 million instructions per second, and software-controlled power of 7 to 30 Watts typical.
