Dual camera link embedded computing FMC for mission-critical video processing introduced by Abaco

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Abaco Systems in Huntsville, Ala., is introducing the FMC422 dual camera link embedded computing FPGA mezzanine card (FMC) for demanding, mission-critical video processing applications that require high performance capture or output together with FPGA processing.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Abaco Systems in Huntsville, Ala., is introducing the FMC422 dual camera link embedded computing FPGA mezzanine card (FMC) for demanding, mission-critical video processing applications that require high performance capture or output together with FPGA processing.

The FMC complies with VITA 57.1, and is for high-bandwidth deployments such as degraded visual environments, active protection systems, and autonomous vehicles.

The FMC422 is for new systems as well as technology refresh for existing systems. The FMC422 offers a direct LVDS connection to the FPGA, and the potential to run at a faster data rate than the standard.

Power over Camera Link (PoCL) reduces the requirement for customers to add power cables to their cameras. Pairing the FMC422 with an FPGA carrier enables support for legacy cameras as well as future products.

Software support includes Microsoft Windows and Linux; a board support package that includes an open source VHDL reference design and open source C/C++ reference examples; and Stellar IP, an FPGA tool to greatly simplify and speed system development.
