IEEE International Radar Conference set for May 8 to 12

WASHINGTON - The designated theme of this year's International Radar Conference, sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), is global perspective of affordable radar systems. The conference will be held in the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center, Alexandria, Va., May 8 to 12.

The technical sessions will cover systems, technology developments, phenomenology, and processing, according to the National Capital Area Council of IEEE, and the conference will also have exhibits. NDIA science and engineering conference to focus on COTS

LAUREL, Md. - Tradeoffs in the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technology will be the focus of this year's Science and Engineering Technology Conference sponsored by the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) May 9 to 11 at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Md.

Arthur Money, assistant secretary of defense for command, control, communications, and intelligence, will be the keynote speaker on May 10. Also speaking that day will be Hans Mark, deputy director of defense for science and technology.

The conference consists of four sessions: future military operations and systems, emerging commercial systems, emerging military systems technology, and future technology insertion business models.
