WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, Ohio — Scientists at the Electro-Optics division of the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Sensors Directorate at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, are asking industry to propose research projects for the Day/Night EO/IR Tracker Countermeasures (DETCM) Advanced Technology Demonstration.

This program is to develop and demonstrate advanced capabilities for aircraft self-defense against advanced electro-optic and infrared threats. Program information is available on the World Wide Web at http://www.eps.gov/spg/ USAF/AFMC/AFRLWRS/ PRDA-02-03-SNK/Attachments. html.

The Day/Night EO/IR Tracker Countermeasures (DETCM) Advanced Technology Demonstration is to show the capability to preemptively detect, locate, and negate electro-optic and infrared (EO/IR) night sights and trackers at operationally significant ranges.

When this demonstration is finished, the project will move into engineering and manufacturing development as an upgrade to existing directed infrared countermeasures systems. The project will extend through 2006. Contract award should be Nov. 25, 2002.

Proposals are due by 3 p.m. eastern time July 26. Those interested in submitting proposals may view and/or download the full PRDA solicitation at http://www.eps.gov/EPSData/USAF/Synopses/904/PRDA-02-03-SNK/PRDA.doc.

A zipped file with the full-text program research and development announcement, contract data requirements list, and contract security classification specification — DD Form is available at http://www.eps.gov/EPSData/USAF/Synopses/904/PRDA-02-03SNK/200206100309.zip.
